Ja'o is an open-air space located at the Waldorf Astoria in Cancun where guests can socialize, dine, and drink in a classic Mexican cantina environment. It's meant for guests to enjoy long lunches and dinners complimented by a local and international beverage menu. the branding people developed a concept that extracts inspiration from the kitsch aesthetic, hence a vibrant color palette and a visual system that expresses the sleazy side of Mexican culture in a refined and sophisticated way. A bold, classic, playful wordmark was designed, fitting perfectly with the whole graphic system while creating a statement. Overall, this makes Jao's a lively and recognizable brand, creating a one-of-a-kind ambiance that showcases this very peculiar side of the cantina culture.
